About

Welcome to my site.

My name is Mark Jump. I am a retired IT executive living in Mill Spring, NC after spending most of my career in Tampa and Boston.

I spent my youth working for newspapers learning a journalism trade and a love for photography. As I advanced in my career I found a knack in the technology aspect of the media industry and transitioned to working for media software companies, traveling the world representing my employers.

In 2016 I was “retired” and after a couple more years packed up and moved to the mountains of North Carolina.

I am an avid landscape and wildlife photographer as you can see in the pictures on this site. In September, 2018 I volunteered my time at the World Equestrian Games held at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in ordered to experience the event and to photograph the world class athletes in the field. You can find a collection of images from WEG in the links at the top of the page under Horses n Hounds.

I then found interest in photographing equestrians and their horses in other settings and became “embedded” with the Green Creek Hounds based out of the Polk county, NC area.

I hope you find my art interesting as I try to see photography through a unique vision. I will do custom photo shoots if requested so reach out to me thru the contact page if you would like.

I also have a background in web site development and maintenance and dabble with new sites from time to time. If you would like to upgrade your site I have a background in design for marketing, e-commerce and general purpose sites. I am not a “developer” and do not code.
